Things are getting interesting, without really working much on my older site they seem to be rising up in rankings :). Pretty much 90% of my time is on this blog or my new websites so it’s always great to see my past work still increasing in earnings. My highest day in April was $138. Since then, because this post is late I had some May days and I almost reached $150 in a single day too :). My goal for mid 2011 was an average of $150 a day, I think I will probably reach it, especially once my new websites start ranking.
so $2978 from Adsense,
$20 CPA offer
$127 Amazon
$44 Clickbank (wow that went down a lot… My site that was making good adsense money and some clickbank product sales lost some ranking this month)
$80 Infolinks
$180 Keyword Academy commissions.
$70 Article Ranks
Total of $3,300
I also got a some $$ off hosting commissions off hostgator done this month but they want 3 months before releasing payment, so I’ll add those to my total report when I actually receive it…
I won’t go into details of my expenses but beyond hosting expenses + ~$80 for articles + the usual networks such as UAW/TKA I’ve been trying new linking services now that are more hands off. They are expensive but at this point my time is starting to be more important for me, so I tried out Linxboss at $147 and this “SEOnuking” service at $200.
Linxboss in the basic subscription allows 5 domains to receive backlinks from their service and sends 200 backlinks to each domain (so a total of 1000) per month with the anchor text you specify. To properly test it I have sent some links to one of my very new websites and the rest to my older ones. I saw ranking increases on my new website when I started using it (already page 2-3 for it’s keyword) so it definitely does help in rankings at this point. I’m also trying it on 4 of my older websites because they have a “LINK 4 LINK” system which means in addition to the 200 backlinks per domain, they will build backlinks to backlinks already pointing to your website! Obviously this won’t help my new website (for now) since it only has Linxboss links but for the other domains I’m interested in seeing how much this helps. Oh ya, a cool feature they have is they also track all your keywords in the search engines so you can see their respective rankings before you started using this service and see the increase over the weeks.
Seonuking is basically having an assistant doing 5 Senuke submissions to web 2.0s with links to your website and between them. Some of these submissions are “trow away networks” that will only have one article on the web 2.0s and the others will be constantly re-used and have new articles every now and then. If you have a subscription to the mini articles that I explained in this post, they also basically take care of finding the articles with spin syntax and add your keywords to them. They also create some long term style web 2.0 networks that they repost to every other day. Also, they submit your articles to UAW/AR/MAN (my article network, another good article distribution service that works decently from my tests but with less results than UAW or AR). Anyway, I definitely saw some increase which was already a given considering I knew UAW and AR work very well. Honestly, I think if you are looking for more time to put into internet marketing this service is really helpful especially if you are not currently playing for any of the 3 mentioned article networks, they easily add up to $150+ per month by themselves and you still have to do the work yourself… I cannot accurately say how much their SEnuke promotions are helping since the same keywords are used for the multiple article networks but….
I’m hiring my first full time VA to help me with linkbuilding and many other tasks this month. It’s going to cost me $500/month or so and I’ll probably have him do the Senuking style web 2.0 submissions in a way that I think will work better amongst his many tasks and I’ll test with keywords I only use web 2.0 networks to rank for to really see how much they help. He will also submit my spinned articles to the multiple networks that I use since it takes a bit of preparation to submit them for each individual network as shown in my previous video post. I think I’ll also have him review sites like flippa to maybe search for websites I would like to buy in my spare time.
Most of April’s work was finishing the keyword research for my new websites that were registered in March /early April to make sure I had all the articles I want for them lined up. I also started building backlinks to some of them using linxboss/seonuking as previously mentioned. I’ll be using my usual networks on the others without any backlinks very soon. My new websites are already ranking quite well, some on them are already on page 2 for the keywords I’m targeting so I’m gonna have to give them a nice Artisteer theme soon and think about adding adsense and/or CPA offers to them soon. It also took me a while to find a VA and figure out all the tasks I want him to do, that’s mostly figured out now.
Just curious alex so the backlinking you most do are those 2 article networks? How much do you pay for article creation for those, and do you spin them?
I know UAW didn’t seem to be that effective for me. What’s TKA?
How many sites do you own and how much do u spend on backlinkign to get them up that’s my main fault my sites are not all top 10 maybe 80% are not.
TKA= keyword academy which includes niche refinery and post runner.
I haven’t been using them much in the last 2 months but I usually pay around $2 per article and $2 for someone to spin a lot of words in them.
I usually only send 1-2 article targeting mainly one keyword each month, and then if that keyword did not rise enough I send more the following month or ignore it for a while. I can be a few articles in a given month for the same website but they usually are for different keywords.
Hi Alex
is it a mistake to add adsence to your sites at the very beginning ?
so in one day i am doing the below
put site up
add artciles
add adsence
add artisteer
then i wait 2 mths before useing article ranks
if this is a mistake what would you do to fix it for the web sites i started in march and april
It’s not a mistake, I just don’t bother with it until I actually get traffic and make the website an artisteer theme.
So do you not even put a theme on the site at first? How much traffic do you need to be getting before you will put on adsense and an artisteer theme?
I just keep the default wordpress theme until I’m on the first page of Google for the keywords I’m targeting. It’s not anything special, if you want to change the theme do it, I just do things in phases.
Why? Because it is a waste of time to do the optical fine tuning if you find out while doing seo it’s too hard to get good rankings for a website(or the traffic is way lower then expected)?
Ya exactly, I had a lot of websites fail that I ultimately ended up removing adsense. So I just wait until it actually gets traffic to make it good looking and monetize it.
sir.. where do i get free seo tools? i started out of a scratch. and dont have money to buy tools. any suggestion?
You don’t need any of these SEO tools when you first start, I didn’t buy anything besides domains and hosting until my third month when I started TKA. At that point I was making $1/day and decided I need to free up time and amximise my efforts so I started trying a lot of software. All you need to start with is the free google keyword tool and search for websites you could create. I suppose if you REALLY do not want to spend anything you can make free blogs but really, if you don’t even have the moeny for $10/domain or $10/month for hosting you probably are not ready for creating your own online business, get a part time job or work for some people on Odesk to make a bit of money.
Alex are you still using postrunner in TKA now days?
I haven’t in a while. I’ve been using my unique articles for ezine/hubpage/squidoo for the past weeks for my new websites. I’ll be using postrunner or BMR again in the future. I’ve been trying out BMR a lot again recently and I might do a similar test for postrunner but that’s later on.
Alex, I want to thank you so much for this website! I’m still pretty much a noob, but I’ve been reseaching IM for months and your website is by far the most informative. I bought my first website last week and I’m filled with excitement about its future even if its utter failure. I hate my 9-5 job and plan to acquire more websites in the coming months. I’m not a person easily excited about anything, but I see there’s still so much potential in this! I can’t wait for the day (hopefully) I can tell my boss to shove it lol Actually, I won’t do that, but I’ll definitely be thinking it.
My website is like two days old and I’ve applied for Amazon Associates (they accepted, yay) and I’m already the 6th result for my niche. Keep this blog going!
Cool 🙂 Just keep the dream alive in the long term, easy to get excited within a few days but you need to work on this for a few months as a side business to see results that will make you proud.
Hi Alex,
I was just curious to know if your websites with adsense are just in english or you are in some niches based on different languages.
My mother tongue is italian but I personally feel that european people are less inclined to click a banner. I see that in the english market, especially with affiliate products, americans click very easily.
What do you think?
I have one french site as a test but it makes less than $30 a month, I kinda want to do more but… no 99% of my income is off American sites
Alex, I love your story, you are awesome
Hey Alex, basically after your trying to promote some keyword with let say UAW and AR, and it still not in the position you want it to be what are your steps further?
Hard question, you ultimately can’t get #1 for everything only using those 2. Try searching and doing guestposts, submitting to postrunner and being patient.
Hi, how many sites you have got till now to reach this earning?
and all of them are minisite ?
thanks
80% of my income is off 5-6 websites. No they are not minisites. Biggest is 100+ posts, second is 30-40 posts and the others are 5-20
Still having trouble figuring out which outsourcing services to use. Should i be doing a mass run? With UAW And MAN? Then $2 an article and possibly pay someone $2 to spin. So that’s $4×3 = $12 per keyword and then the monthly fee is that correct?
I would start by just using one service then you bring your articles to the next one the following month since I’m assuming you’re just starting. Not sure why you need 3 articles per keyword… One article can target at least 2+. URL’s (3 for MAN/AR). I usually have variations of keywords too.
